Drama and Theatrics on FB in the Age of Information and Federal Informants..

Tom Garner is one of the most well known and highly respected breeders of American Pit Bull Terriers in the world at present. Some love and respect that man tremendously. However, where there’s fame and glory to be had there’s also those that seek attention and prestige in meeting and dealing with anyone with serious popularity and especially any sort of international spotlight. Some believe Tom Garner to be among the wisest, most intelligent and experienced breeders of A.P.B.T’s. Also though there are those that despise Mr. Garner most likely for reasons of envy and jealousy and consider him to be a “puppy peddler” running a “puppy mill” with no serious regard or respect for anyone or anything but his own finances.

As I was browsing Facebook today a post showed up in my newsfeed that was alarming for several reasons. First is the open discussion of “illegal activities”. Mr. garner is being associated with the illegal practice of dog fighting by commenters in a feed and on a FB group that is easily accessible by anyone that wants to gain entry including and not limited to media, informants, local law enforcement, federal agencies, and activists.. He is being dragged in this post into a criminal element that he tries to avoid. He states clearly as do I that he does not breed or sell animals for any illegal purposes. Of course there are lowlives that would publicly make comments that would implicate the contrary.

Doing business is difficult when your product is personal and your sales are private. Contracts may be required to maintain the safety and security of the business, the business person, and the product being provided by a seller to a purchaser. I won’t sell dogs or puppies to just anyone.. ever. If you smell funny to me, I don’t like your face, or feel like you don’t brush your teeth enough, or don’t like where you come from I will reserve my rights as a proper business person to not sell a person anything but a dream. In the post shown below a man named Darren Brooks is telling on himself and making implications that can cause for himself, Mr. Garner, and everyone that commented to be added to a watchlist to be surveilled and investigated for illegal activity that can lead to ordinances and legislation to be written to restrict the breeding, sale, and ownership of these animals without licenses and permits to protect the animals and the general public from the loud mouthed, dramatic, braggarts and criminals that would destroy the reputations of successful breeders and their product for leverage in a business dealing, attention, and any other petty and unscroupelous reasons. I haver no idea why Mr. Garner would even publicly respond to a post like this as opposed to making private communications about whatever it is that happened here.

I’ll say clearly that I won’t ever disrespect a breeder, their productions, the business, or the breed by making personal business public.. or by making a private issue “community business”. The only purpose served is to try to gain leverage in a situation where reputation is at stake and to tarnish the standing and reputation of an established and respected breeder and his status as a business person. If I decide to make any personal business a public affair I have to take responsibility for the fact that people I don’t want knowing my personal effects have access to information they don’t need. I learned long ago that things happen in any business.. but especially those with any kind of “underground/underworld” elements involved. This is a situation that could get very ugly extremely fast. Some wouldn’t do as Mr. Garner did and entertain whatever happened here publicly. I know people that wouldn’t respond to this at all and would just go to making calls and communications that would lead to experiences Darren Brooks doesn’t want and surely doesn’t need. Maybe in that regard Mr. Garner is a kinder more gentle man than myself.
